How did this whole BRV thing come about? Dawn had been dreaming about buying a small Class B RV/campervan, since she enjoys camping but has trouble staying in tents because of her severe allergies to grass and plans. I liked the idea of having a self-contained vehicle/bed for road trips and weekend getaways, but each time I looked at them I was in sticker shock, as even used ones cost tens of thousands of dollars. I thought, "Why not just buy a big used cargo van and put a futon in the back?" That would be way cheaper and much hipper. And so I did, and presented my creation to Dawn for her birthday. She was very excited, as you can see below.
